Since 2003, J. Read Corporation has been one of the leading site contractors in the Northeast. We specialize in complex earth moving projects and large-scale site development. Our experience as manufacturers, material producers, contractors, owners and developers position us to uniquely understand the critical importance budget and schedule have for a Project.
Based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, we work industrial, commercial and residential projects in both the public and private sectors. J. Read Corporation is fully licensed, bonded and insured.

History of J. Read Corporation
J Read Corporations parent company, The Read Corporation, was the inventor and manufacturer of the Read Screen-All line of portable materials screening plants.
James Read sold the company in 1997 and formed Hingham Crushing Solutions (HCS) with his son Gregory. HCS became a major supplier of processed materials to the Big Dig in Boston, MA.
In 2000, Jim & Greg closed part of the HCS Quarry to begin development of the premier golf course Black Rock Country Club and The Residences at Black Rock as an Owner/Developer. This led to the creation of the J. Read Corporation (incorporated in 2003), as an in-house site work company. It wasn’t long after completing the Black Rock project that J. Read Corporation began outside projects, beginning with Linden Ponds, a large retirement community adjacent to the golf course community.

Present Day
Now a multi-generational company with the addition of Greg’s son Nate, the last fourteen years have seen an explosion of the scope of work J. Read Corporation performs. Having such diverse experience as having been a Manufacturer, a Material Producer, and an Owner/Developer, gives J. Read Corporation a unique perspective of understanding the critical importance of the Budget and Schedule process for our Clients.
Extreme care is given to phases and projects being completed on time. Our extensive knowledge of Earth Moving and our fleet of large heavy equipment has also garnished us a reputation of being one of the best large earth movers in New England.
